We are happy to announce that the new XACS cloud computing was released on September 11 on XACS website. The new, more versatile cloud computing platform is replacing the old one, while also preserving all the trusted features of the latter. The release video provides a brief overview of the capabilities and usage of the new cloud computing:
In brief, the new computing will give you much more flexibility to do what you want online:
Please check the short user manual of the new cloud computing.
Below are new features at a glance.
The XACS terminal allows you to use XACS software as you would work in the Linux terminal on your computer. It is now possible to submit new jobs, run scripts, access and manage all your files and directories through the command line.
Now you also can browse through your files and sort them out with the new file manager. A nice feature is that it is seamlessly connected to the terminal and job submitter so that you can directly submit your job from it!
You can now easily navigate through the computing jobs, e.g., you can see and manage their status and directly jump to the directory with the input and output files.
Finally, if you want to submit a new job without much hustle, you can use the new job submitter which is similar to the old one but is now seamlessly connected to all other new functions.
The old cloud computing website will be available for some short period of time to provide access to the archive of the old calculations, but it is deprecated and as such will not be maintained any longer. It means that no software updates and bug fixes will be provided in the old cloud computing and no technical problems will be fixed there. We highly recommend the users move to the new computing and download and back up any of the data from the old cloud computing.
