Dear users,
we are pleased to announce that we have
released the XACS Jupyter Lab which is now available on the XACS cloud computing. Jupyter
Lab is a powerful, open-source, web-based interactive development environment
designed for data science, machine learning, and scientific computing. Even for
non-programmers, it may provide a convenient way for users to manage their
files (upload, download, view, and edit), start the terminal, and follow
tutorials in Jupyter notebooks.
The usage of XACS Jupyter Lab is simple, just switch to the “Jupyter Lab” page from the sidebar, and click the “Launch Server” button on the page, a Jupyter Lab server will be launched on the XACS cluster for you. Each instance of the Jupyter Lab is treated as the usual computational job on the XACS HPC cluster and, hence, similar limitations are applied (currently, 4 CPU cores are allocated for each Jupyter Lab server and the server will run for up to 7 days).
After the server is launched, click the “Connect” button to access the XACS Jupyter Lab. You can also click the "Stop" button to stop the running server and release resources.
After you enter the XACS Jupyter Lab, you will have access to your files and scripts, terminal, and can launch your Jupyter notebook:
For each user, we placed in their directory, the new folder ‘jupyter_examples’. This folder contains a rather comprehensive tutorial example in ‘mlatom_tutorial.ipynb’ on how to use MLatom@XACS for training machine learning models and using quantum mechanical and ML models for simulations.
Besides, you could also upload and download files easily in Jupyter Lab, and view or edit files in it.
Additionally, there is an also terminal in the XACS Jupyter Lab, similar to the XACS terminal:
As with the XACS terminal, for security
reasons, we can only provide the XACS Jupyter Lab service to the verified users
providing their real information when they apply for the use of XACS
cloud computing. The application is easy and is directly displayed on the XACS
Jupyter Lab page. Also, please observe the user agreement when using the XACS
Jupyter Lab.
